First Day of School

Quick update. Yesterday, both Violet and Zack started school. Zack now takes the normal school bus (around 7am) and Violet half an hour later. They weren't very talkative, but they also didn't complain, so I am going to assume things went ok.

Funny Violet anecdote. She has to keep a reading journal which I need to sign every night. She clearly considered this a pain, so asked me 'Can I just forge your signature?' I told her sure. She reads tons anyway, I don't need to micromanage it. I just was amused by her solution ^^

Violet

I got Violet's neuropsych report and he decided on diagnosing her with Aspergers after all. Not a big surprise, just a bit different from PPD-NOS.

Kinda depressing quote: There is an extended family history for depression, mood disorders, OCD, ADHD, reading and language disabilities, and Aperger Syndrome.

Interesting quote: We went out for lunch to a local grocery store. There was definitely increased social anxiety. When she walked, she would grasp the elbow of her opposite arm, holding both arms close to her body. She would talk to me without ever loking at me or would walk away while we were talking. She would tell jokes to calm herself.

Reassuring quote: Currently, Violet denies any suicidal thoughts and does not think about dying.
